1. Introduction

This Cookie Policy explains how CarBeep Sdn. Bhd. ("CarBeep", "we", "us", or "our") uses cookies, analytics scripts, software development kits ("SDKs"), local storage, device identifiers, and similar technologies when you use our website, mobile apps, and related services.

This Policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy and the terms that apply to the CarBeep customer app or CarBeep Buddy app.

2. What cookies and similar technologies are

Cookies are small files stored on your browser or device when you visit a website. Similar technologies, including SDKs, pixels, tags, local storage, and device identifiers, may perform similar functions in websites or mobile apps.

These technologies help us operate the Services, keep sessions secure, understand how public pages are used, diagnose issues, remember basic preferences, and improve the experience.

3. Technologies we use

3.1 Essential technologies

Essential technologies are needed to operate the website, app, and related services. They may be used for:

security and fraud prevention;
session handling;
public website delivery;
form protection and abuse prevention;
app authentication and account security; and
service availability and diagnostics.

Disabling essential browser features may affect the functionality of the website or app.

3.2 Analytics technologies

We may use analytics technologies to understand how users interact with public pages and services. For example, the CarBeep website may use Ahrefs Web Analytics or a similar analytics provider to measure page visits, navigation patterns, referring pages, approximate region, browser type, device type, and related technical information.

Analytics information helps us improve public pages, support content, legal-page accessibility, and launch-readiness monitoring.

3.3 Functional technologies

Functional technologies may be used to remember settings or improve convenience, such as language preferences, notification preferences, interface preferences, or similar app and website settings where available.

3.4 Mobile app technologies

The CarBeep and CarBeep Buddy mobile apps may use app-level technologies such as push-notification tokens, device identifiers, crash diagnostics, performance logs, and security signals. These help support booking notifications, account security, troubleshooting, app reliability, and service communications.

3.5 Advertising and marketing technologies

We do not use WhatsApp OTP authentication as a channel for general marketing. Where marketing or advertising technologies are introduced, we will use them only in line with the Privacy Policy, marketing preferences you have provided, and applicable law.

4. Information collected

Cookies and similar technologies may collect:

IP address or approximate network location;
browser, device, operating system, and app version information;
referring pages and pages viewed;
session duration and interaction patterns;
error, crash, and diagnostic events;
notification tokens and delivery status; and
security, fraud-prevention, or abuse-prevention signals.

Some of this information may be personal data when it can identify or be linked to an individual. We handle it as described in our Privacy Policy.

5. Why we use these technologies

We may use cookies and similar technologies to:

operate and secure the website and apps;
provide app notifications and service updates;
prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorised access;
measure public website usage and performance;
diagnose bugs, crashes, and compatibility issues;
improve legal, support, and onboarding pages;
remember available preferences; and
support marketing only where permitted and consistent with your choices.

6. Third-party providers

We may use third-party service providers for analytics, hosting, app infrastructure, push notifications, diagnostics, payment flows, customer support, and security. These providers may process technical information on our behalf or under their own terms where they control the relevant technology.

Examples of provider categories include analytics providers, cloud hosting providers, push-notification providers, payment service providers, app-store providers, and support or diagnostics providers.

Third-party websites, app stores, payment pages, or partner systems may use their own cookies or similar technologies. Their use is governed by their own notices and policies.

7. Managing cookies and preferences

You can usually manage browser cookies through your browser settings. Depending on your browser, you may be able to block, delete, or restrict cookies.

You can manage mobile app permissions, including notification and location permissions, through your device settings. Where in-app preference controls are available, you may use those controls to manage optional preferences.

Blocking cookies or app permissions may affect some features, especially security, authentication, maps, notifications, support flows, or app diagnostics.

8. Do Not Track

Some browsers offer "Do Not Track" signals. Because there is no single industry standard for these signals, the CarBeep website may not respond to all such signals. You can still manage cookies through your browser settings and app permissions through your device settings.

9. Retention

Retention periods vary depending on the technology and purpose. Security, fraud-prevention, diagnostic, support, analytics, and consent records may be retained for different periods as described in our Privacy Policy or as needed for legal, audit, security, or operational purposes.

Aggregated or anonymised analytics may be retained for longer where individuals are no longer identifiable.

10. Updates to this Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our website, app technologies, analytics providers, legal requirements, or operational needs.

The latest version will show the current "Last Updated" date.
